Kea update

23 August 2007

An update on where we are with the issues that people have been having with the Kea upgrade.

  • Image upload problems. We have changed the way Kea deals with the edicated image tags so that they now open in a regular editor window. You should no longer experience problems with uploading images, but you do now need to check the size of the image in the appearance tab of the image upload popup. If the image is larger than you want it to be, you can adjust the size and re-insert. Contact Angela if you need help with this.
  • Anchors are now working ok
  • Can't right click on a file name - right click on the "view" link to save a file down to your hard drive.
  • Error message when leaving site map or privileges screen - fixed

Problems still being dealt with

  • Some users on large sites are experiencing slowness to load folders. We are working on this and hope to have things running more smoothly in the near future.
  • Autonav problems - there are some problems with autonav which aren't actually anything to do with the upgrade, but which are proving difficult to deal with. The cause of the problem seems to be linked to moving files to a different directory. If you need to move files you should make a new file and copy the content over from the old one to avoid developing autonav problems.
We are working on autonav problems as a matter of urgency.
  • File upload field and button moving - another strange one. It seems that if you resize your browser the browse button and field return to the correct pane. Another one we are working on currently.

We do want to apologise to any of you who are experiencing problems and are doing our best to deal with them.

New Features

  • Line Breaks - the new editor uses paragraphs as the default formatting, if you need a line break rather than a paragraph return, press shift+enter
  • Table editor has more functions
  • Paste from Word - use this when pasting text from Word or from another Website, to remove hard coded formatting
  • Remove formatting button, removes unwanted formatting
